Meet Vegas!

This little sweetheart moved in with us 3 weeks ago. We found her at a vet clinic, having recently given birth to 8 kittens (why not bring some fertility into my house?) at only a year old. She is tiny - 4.6 lbs. Well, more than that now, as she has been chowing down pretty heartily here.

Vegas is very sweet and affectionate, but a little skiddish. She rarely ventures downstairs, and has avoided the dogs (I did catch her sniffing one sleeping dog). But she is gradually becoming braver. I've taken her outside a few times, and she gets more confident and comes to me more easily each time. I'd like her to be able to enjoy the woods and fields around here, but she is snack-sized, so I don't mind if she's a home-body (we recently lost our other cat to a coyote - 1st time in all the years here).

Here she is looking like a gorgeous run-way model, off-setting the fall leaves with her pretty little self.

I've always had big cats, and I've always had male cats. This little sweetheart (who comes to the call of "Sweetie" instead of her name "Vegas") brings out this side of me that wants to buy her comfy pillows and dote on her. If she were a baby girl, I'd be dressing her up in frills and pink - despite my swearing I'd never do that. She's just a girlie-girl who brings out the girlie-girl in me.

Today I am grateful for:
* my husband, who put up with me being a bitch today for no good reason
* Vegas came to me when I called her outside
* tomorrow's still the weekend!

What I did to take care of myself today:
* talked with my sister - always a joy
* I'll curl up with my book this evening

Very, very cute. We have two barn cats, both larger males. One of them likes to disappear for a couple of weeks at a time and I'm always certain he's been eaten by a coyote, but so far he always comes back.

From what I can tell, you should be done the tww. Can I ask how it went? Or did you not want to blog about?

Thanks for asking. My period came and went earlier in the week. We are taking November off. Drinking lots of (decaf) coffee. ;-)

I love that picture of Vegas on the steps with the bright autumn leaves surronding her. She is beautiful and the foliage is beautiful!

Hey again! I saw your comment on my blog (thank you) so I wanted to make sure you got my response. I did use an anonymous account for a little while (f.c.) but decided that wasn't for me. I guess my location gave me away! ;)
