Got Milk!

About a week ago, I noticed that Pinecone had been eating a lot less, and it was a struggle to get her to finish her "bag" (donated breastmilk or formula in a bag, that is attached to a little tube that runs to my breast, so when she nurses she gets the supplement). Then I had a situation in which I needed to pump before she ate instead of after -- I had some donated breastmilk that needed to be eaten within 24 hours and there was quite a bit of it. So I started pumping, and oh my gosh, this is what I got!

As the day went on, I kept pumping, and I got even more!

6 ounces total. That means I am making 1/4 of her milk. Wow! Honestly, it has been a real struggle, and I've had to convince myself nearly everyday that it was worth the extra work. Now I know it is. As grateful as I am for all the donated milk, it is wonderful to think that she is getting milk made just for her.

I tell my mom (former LLL leader) and sister (lactivist extraordinaire) about you all the time - your story is just so beautiful and brings us so much joy. Well done, you! All your hard work and perseverance is paying off for Pinecone in such a beautiful way.

Wonderful! I am so impressed with your perseverance! I'm sure it can't be the easiest thing to manage, but what a reward for sticking to it!
