Summer

Summer has been slow to arrive in the Pacific Northwest, and even now our mornings are cool and foggy, the sun peaks out around noon, we have a sunny afternoon, then bundle up again for the night. But we have been enjoying playing in the garden and on the deck, which is now sporting a new railing! So Pinecone now has a giant playpen! We used left over deer fencing, which is supposed to withstand a buck running through it, so we'll see how it does with a toddler on a trike. Though it doesn't look like much, it is very strong, and it "disappears" so our view is not diminished much.

So here is my annotated photo essay.....

Her new favorite thing -- a ride in her box-wagon.

Helping me re-pot the house plants.

Raised by a pack of dogs. (BTW, I promise don't let her eat out of the dog dish! In fact, she gives the dogs wide berth when they are eating. No need to test the issue.)

The requesite messy-eating picture. This one is black beans.

The view before the railing went up.

Hanging out in the rocking chair in her bedroom.

Gently exloring the gingko tree. My grandma grew this little tree from a seed from the giant gingko in her backyard, which I used to climb all the time when I was a kid.

Isn't she gorgeous!

Ah! She is so very cute!! I love the photos! She is getting so big - and active. Yay! Looks like she is having a blast out there on the deck.

I can take a few cool days of summer right about now. Can't believe she's wearing a jacket in these photos. Ha!

She is beautiful. I love that blue and green striped jacket too.

And I love the view. Although I love living in the middle of the prairies, I do miss the trees of the west coast.
