The Beauty of a 10-page Autobiography
is that when we met with our adoption social worker today for our final meeting, he had no further questions for us. I'd heard about having to have several hour-long interviews, and I guess he shortens that by making us write it all down. The things we'd been anxious about didn't come up. We'd talked about them in the autobiography, and he seemed to be satisfied with those answers. Such a relief. At one point, I'd actually felt insecure about whether we'd "pass". Instead, he said we were a really nice couple and was excited to hear how our adoption was progressing. It also was completed quickly. Even our FBI fingerprint background check was finished in 3 weeks instead of the usual 6-8. Ok, 1st big hurdle is out of the way.

It is great to hear that your hard work has paid off a little. How nice to have something go more smoothly than you expect! Hope more nice surprises are headed your way.
It must be such a relief to speed up the process a little. I am glad you are proving to them that you will be amazing parents...soon.
That's awesome! Congratulations on getting past the first hurdle. I can totally understand your nervousness. I would be too. It's hard to put your life out there like that.
That's great. Congrats on getting past the first hurdle. Hope things go smoothly from now on.
Congratulations! What wonderful news!
I'll be eagerly reading -- here, cheering you on!

Yay for getting that out of the way. I am also nervous about the first interview. I am worried that our answers will be wrong, but I want to be honest about what our intentions are as parents. I will feel so much relief once we get past that stage.
tag!
Having someone come in and judge your entire life must be so stressful. I'm glad you were able to shorten up the process.
Congrats, this is a huge step! Ours was similar because we had written so much about ourselves. They only had a few more questions and the rest of the time we just sat and chatted. :) This is a big step in the process, I'm glad it went well!
